Past, NOW, Future

the past

When are we going to learn to focus on NOW? Right now. This second. What happened yesterday cannot be changed. It can be discussed and even learned from but never changed. Tomorrow? Is not here yet. You have no idea what tomorrow will bring. You can plan for it but there is no guarantee that any of your plans will come to fruition.

People ask, “If you could change anything in your past what would you change?”

NOTHING, because I can’t change anything. Why even fantasize about it. What is done is done. Learn from it. If it was good- relive it or maybe do it again. If it was wrong then learn the lesson you needed to learn and don’t repeat your missteps. Simple.

I am who I am because of my past. I have become the person I am today because of bumps in the road and walls I’ve walked into. I have been built by the people I have met and those I have let go of. Is this a bad thing? Not for me. If you don’t like who you have become then make some changes. Clean out your environment. Not just things, but people too.

I recently decided that I needed to do some Spring cleaning of my friend’s list on some social media sites. I started to truly see how negative some people were and it was rubbing off on me. I was lashing out at everything and everyone because it was what I was being exposed to all day. Bye! Nope! See ya! I decided to take back “me”. I wanted the old me back. The me who laughed easily and found joy under every rock. Who saw the wonder in a blade of grass. I had become mean. Hateful. Disgruntled. For no reason.

I allowed my soul to be tainted by the sadness and anger of others. Not anymore. I choose me. I choose peace and joy over the issues of people who no longer matter. I’m tired of being the fodder of the rumor mills. I tired of being fuel for fires I didn’t start. I’m done taking the blame and the brunt of other peoples actions.

I know my flaws and except them all. I can claim my own errors. I can hold the blame for the things I have done without issue.

I like the old me and am going to ask her to coffee to rekindle our long forgotten friendship. She is kinda cool to hang with after all.

will you drink coffee with me propose
