I know I have been silent for a few days. Things have gotten a bit wonky in my world. We had to put our sweet Bindi girl down. She was so sick so fast. We barely had time to come to grips with her illness. Monday, Dec 14, the day after our 29th Wedding Anniversary, I held her as she took her last breath. I made sure she wasn’t scared or alone at all.
Our vet has a wonderful, fenced area where we laid out Bindi’s blanket and put her on it. I snuggled her under another cover to keep her warm and took us on a journey through memories. I reminded her about how sweet, and special she is. I told her she was loved by many and such a good girl. Once she began to doze from the sedative she was given when we arrived, the doctor came back out and gave her morphine to send her over the rainbow bridge in a cloud of butterflies. Dr. Louis sat with us and stroked Bindi’s silky black fur until she left us. The kindness she offered as I said goodbye to our furbaby was so appreciated.

On top of all that suck-age- Covid invaded our home. The Hubs was exposed through work, so we have been hunkered down in our home for the last week. This made losing Bindi hard but at least we had all the time we needed to shower her in love and support. This is also why we opted to let Bindi leave us in the outside are at the vet. It is safer for the doctor and staff. No worries. We are fine. We have taken our temperatures every day and each was normal. No symptoms other than boredom.
This is why I have been absent. Stick with me friends. I am getting myself together and will be back at throwing words on the screen very soon.
