Mirrors
Mirrors aren’t so great you see,
because they show the real me.
Mirrors show the flaws of youth
Like gross pimples or a crooked tooth.
Frizzy hair or hair too straight,
plain eyes that aren’t too great.
Mirrors show the steps of age
like crow’s feet and eyes that fade.
Graying skin and a double chin,
beautiful hair that’s way too thin.
Mirrors aren’t so great, in fact,
I do believe mine is packed.
Behind the wigs and makeup case,
the ironing board and an old cracked vase.
The more I have to examine my face,
the more I like that old cracked vase.
Mirrors, what a waste.
