#got a job – New Ink. Used Ideas.

Where’d I go? Well, I didn’t go anywhere but I made some changes. Now, before I get into this, please know that I enjoy writing these posts so that will continue – Cool? Cool.

Drum roll please…

I got a job. Yupper. I ventured out of my hidy-hole and got a job. Weird right? Someone actually liked me enough to offer me a position. I will be working at our local college, Southwestern Illinois College, as a Success Programs Support Specialist. What’s that?

Basically, I will be at the front desk of the Success Center welcoming students and helping them find the right section and tutor to aid in their class work. Cool, right? I am back at the college I graduated from. Working there. Torturing…er…helping students. 😊

AND THEY ARE PAYING ME TO DO IT.

So, the reason I have been missing is because I was reworking my resume. Explaining why I haven’t been in the workforce for several years. (Cuz I was drafting books.) I had to explain what I have learned and how it would benefit the student body. Fun stuff like that.

Have you ever written a cover letter? It’s like writing a synopsis- Hell. Absolute Hell. You must peak someone’s interest enough that they pick up the phone and call you. Then you wait. For ten days. Then the interview. Which I rocked cuz who wouldn’t want me around on the daily.

After we were done, I was told they would let me know their decision in a few days. My interview was on a Wednesday, so I thought Friday or Monday. Nope. I received a call less than two hours later. Cuz I’m tha boss-diggity.

To ease your mind, I will only be working part-time, around 28 hours a week, so I will still have time for you. See, it’s a win-win. I did this cuz this blog isn’t monetized. I needed to build more of an income so finding work was key.

I’m here. Yes, I will randomly disappear because I’m a random person. Just know that I will always come back. I’m like a bad case of herpes. It will clear up and seemly disappear for a while but then come back with a vengeance.
