Worthy

I’ve always been told I’m worthless

Just another face

Nothing special about my person

Not a magnitude of grace

I’ve been told I’m ordinary

No feature stands alone

Never been called extraordinary

I was the one always left alone

Then you came into my life

A smile upon my face

And whispered to me softly

Of beauty and of grace

Through many years of listening

To all that has been said

Repeated more than once

Hate stays within my head

But you grace me with your presence

You share with me your thoughts

You whisper a small message

That all these years I’ve fought

You make me feel so worthy

To stand upon your ground

You wipe away my sorrows

You smile away my frown

You make me feel so beautiful

You make me feel your want

You show me there’s a place for me

Within your words you’ve taught

Thank you for your wisdom

Thank you for your truth

Thank you for just being there

Your touch has been my proof

Times have changed

And so have I

I’ve learned to look now

With an open eye

I’m not so plainly ordinary

It doesn’t hurt to see

I may not be extraordinary

But you believe in me.

I am...interesting. I am a writer, dreamer, mom, wife, veteran, friend, villain, and the wearer of many hats, but I don't look good in hats- go figure. I LOVE TO WRITE. I want to tell stories. I want to make you laugh, cry, and scare the crap out of you, and make you ask "why the hell did you do that?" I want to make you cheer my characters on or want to shake the crap out of them for things they say and/or do. I want to bring you along for the ride. Ready? Set?...READ!!!
